Worrying about what other people think.

In a nutshell, don’t do it. Think about it for a second.  Everyone in your life has an opinion about you. Each of those opinions is different. Now imagine trying to fit your persona to each of those opinions. No wonder everyone is so stressed.

What to do about it? Get control of your inner critic. Start paying attention to that voice that tells you all the things wrong. Found it? Now co-opt it to your side. Tell it you’re in charge; no more unwarranted negative thoughts. Now, since you’re paying, when you notice your inner critic starting to formulate a criticism, gently tell it no. Basic cognitive behavioral therapy. It takes some practice, but you will be amazed at how your anxiety level drops.
